We have been welcoming guests to Oeschinensee since 1892 Oeschinensee now in our fifth generation. We are known for our authentic, homemade cuisine made with regional ingredients, and we have deep roots in the mountains.
In our own bakery, we bake fresh rolls, cakes, muffins, and more every day. All our specialties—such as Spätzli, sauces, soups, and our popular lentil burgers—are made right here in our in-house kitchen, located directly on Oeschinensee. Our meat comes exclusively from the region, and some of it even comes from our own farm in Kandersteg.

Are there enough parking spaces, and can I reserve a parking spot?
Parking in Kandersteg is limited, especially on weekends and during the summer season. Starting around 11:00 a.m., parking spaces may no longer be available. We therefore recommend arriving early.
Parking lots P1–P3 at the lower station of cable car Oeschinensee cable car Oeschinensee Oeschistrasse 50, 3718 Kandersteg) are available daily from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Hikers heading to Oeschinensee should Oeschinensee the hiking parking lots in the village, which offer lower parking rates for hikers.
Reserving a PREMIUM Parking Space: A parking space reservation is only possible in conjunction with at least one gondola ticket that includes a time slot for the ascent between 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. The reserved PREMIUM parking space costs CHF 10. You must enter the parking lot by 9:30 a.m. at the latest. The reservation is valid until 8:00 p.m.
Reservations can be made through the online ticket shop. Tickets for the current day are available online until 6:00 a.m. Additional gondola tickets for extra passengers, children, or dogs can be added in the online ticket shop under the “Tickets” tab.

Just leave the license plate field blank. When you arrive, scan the QR code at the parking meter. Your actual license plate will be automatically recognized and linked to your reservation.
Important Limitations:
– The reservation applies exclusively to parking lots P1–P3 at the valley station. Other parking lots in the municipality of Kandersteg are not included.
– P1–P3 are reserved exclusively for cars up to 5 meters in length and 2 meters in height. Parking spaces cannot be reserved for campers, RVs, or larger vehicles. Paid parking spaces are available in the village and at the Schützenhaus.
– For vehicles taller than 2 meters, a detour fee will be automatically charged if the height restriction is violated. No vehicles are permitted to enter at night.
No. **Premium Parking cannot be booked retroactively after purchasing a ticket.** If you **arrive before 9:30 a.m.**, you will usually find a parking space right next to the cable car valley station. With a valid cable car ticket, you’ll enjoy **reduced parking rates** in the regular parking lots. For a stay of about **4 hours**, the parking costs are roughly the same as for Premium Parking.
No. The private road leading to the shore of Oeschinensee Kandersteg in the Bernese Oberland is closed to all motorized traffic and bicycles. Oeschinensee reached by car, e-bike, mountain bike, or any other vehicle. Instead, take theOeschinensee cable car Oeschinensee hike to the lakeshore in about 90 minutes.
Oeschinensee Kandersteg in the Bernese Oberland is about a 30-minute walk away, and the path is easily accessible even with a stroller. During the summer season,Oeschinensee electric taxi operates from the top station of theOeschinensee cable car every half hour, or more frequently if needed when capacity is full, to the Oeschinensee mountain restaurant Oeschinensee the lakeshore and back. Guests with limited mobility have priority on the electric taxi.
From Spiez and Brig, you can easily reach Kandersteg in the Bernese Oberland by train. From Adelboden and Frutigen, a bus (AFA) runs to Kandersteg. The walk from the train station to the valley station of cable car Oeschinensee cable car Oeschinensee about 10–15 minutes. From June to October, a local bus also runs between the train station and the valley station for every train arrival and departure.
There are no parking spaces available for campers at theOeschinensee cable car valley stationOeschinensee Kandersteg in the Bernese Oberland, as the maximum vehicle height is limited to 2 meters. Additional parking options for larger vehicles are available at the Sunnbüel valley station. Parking spaces are available at the Nordic Arena and at the Bären (near Sunnbüel), among other locations. Parking spaces with no height restrictions are located at the Schützenhaus.
There are eight 11-kW electric vehicle charging stations available in the “P2” parking lot at the lower station of cable car Oeschinensee cable car Oeschinensee Kandersteg in the Bernese Oberland. You can enter the parking lot even when it is full—simply press the button on the entry pillar.
Cycling of any kind is prohibited in the Oeschinensee area Oeschinensee Kandersteg in the Bernese Oberland. Out of consideration for our guests, the natural environment, and for safety reasons, the Oeschinensee can Oeschinensee be visited on foot. There is a court-ordered ban on cycling (mountain biking, e-biking, etc.). In addition, many forest trails pass through ecologically sensitive areas where rare and shy wildlife find refuge and quiet zones.
There are no parking spaces for tour buses at the lower station ofOeschinensee cable car Oeschinensee Kandersteg in the Bernese Oberland; these are located at various spots throughout the village. At the lower station, buses are only permitted to make a brief stop at the bus stop for loading and unloading. For group reservations, a parking space will be assigned to the group leader.
