We have been welcoming guests to Oeschinensee since 1892 Oeschinensee now in our fifth generation. We are known for our authentic, homemade cuisine made with regional ingredients, and we have deep roots in the mountains.
In our own bakery, we bake fresh rolls, cakes, muffins, and more every day. All our specialties—such as Spätzli, sauces, soups, and our popular lentil burgers—are made right here in our in-house kitchen, located directly on Oeschinensee. Our meat comes exclusively from the region, and some of it even comes from our own farm in Kandersteg.
As a socially responsible employer, we have been hiring people with disabilities for many years and foster a strong sense of teamwork. The average length of service is over 15 years.

Parking in Kandersteg is limited on weekends and during the summer. Starting around 12:00 PM, parking spaces may no longer be available—we recommend arriving early. Hikers heading to Oeschinensee should use the hiking parking lots in the village (lower hiking parking rates). No vehicles are permitted to enter at night. Parking spaces cannot be reserved in advance.

From Spiez and Brig, you can easily reach Kandersteg in the Bernese Oberland by train. From Adelboden and Frutigen, a bus (AFA) runs to Kandersteg. From June to October, a local bus also runs between the train station and the valley station for every train arrival and departure.

There are eight 11-kW electric vehicle charging stations available in the “P2” parking lot at the lower station of cable car Oeschinensee cable car Oeschinensee Kandersteg, in the Bernese Oberland. You can enter the lot even when it is full—simply press the button on the entry gate. Charging cables can be borrowed at the ticket office.
Cycling of any kind is prohibited in the Oeschinensee area Oeschinensee Kandersteg in the Bernese Oberland. At the lower station, buses are only permitted to make a brief stop at the bus stop for loading and unloading. For group reservations, a parking space will be assigned to the group leader.
